Terms of Service for SteadyPlate

Agreement to Terms

By downloading, installing, or using SteadyPlate (“the App”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the App.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the App. By using the App, you represent that you are 13 or older and able to enter into these Terms.

Description of Service

SteadyPlate is a personal health and nutrition tracking application that allows you to:

Log and track meals with AI-powered nutrition analysis
Monitor daily calorie and macronutrient intake
Receive personalized insights from Coach Steady, our AI coaching feature
Track intermittent fasting periods
Log exercise activities and water intake
Record weight and calculate BMI
Set and monitor health goals
Sync your data securely across your devices through an account

Accounts

You need an account to use the App. You may create one with your email or by signing in with Apple or Google.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
You agree to provide accurate account information and to keep it up to date.
You may delete your account at any time from within the App. Deleting your account removes your personal data from our servers as described in our Privacy Policy.

Subscriptions and Payments

SteadyPlate offers an optional paid subscription (“Pro”) that unlocks additional features.

Pro is available as an auto-renewing subscription. Pricing and available plans are shown in the App.
Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
Your subscription automatically renews unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID account settings. Deleting the App does not cancel your subscription.
Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable; refund requests are handled by Apple under the App Store terms.

Not Medical Advice

IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: SteadyPlate is designed for general wellness and informational purposes only. The App is NOT intended to:

Provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment
Replace professional medical consultation
Treat, cure, or prevent any disease or medical condition

The nutritional information, calorie calculations, BMI readings, coaching messages, and other health data provided by the App are estimates and should not be considered medically accurate. Always consult with a qualified healthcare provider before:

Starting any diet or nutrition program
Beginning an exercise regimen
Making decisions about your health based on App data
If you have any concerns about your health

AI Features (Meal Analysis and Coach Steady)

The App uses artificial intelligence to analyze meals and to generate personalized coaching insights. While we strive for quality:

AI estimates and insights may not be accurate and are approximations
Nutritional values may vary based on portion sizes, ingredients, and preparation methods
Coach Steady’s messages are for general informational and motivational purposes only and are not medical, nutritional, or professional advice
Do not rely solely on AI output for medical or dietary requirements

User Responsibilities

By using the App, you agree to:

Provide accurate information when logging data
Use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes only
Not attempt to reverse engineer, modify, or distribute the App
Not use the App for any unlawful purpose
Not interfere with or disrupt the App or its supporting services

Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of SteadyPlate, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, and software, are the property of SteadyPlate and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

Data and Privacy

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy. The App uses an account and stores your data on secure cloud servers to sync it across your devices, as described in the Privacy Policy.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SteadyPlate and its developers shall not be liable for:

Any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
Any loss of data, profits, or business opportunities
Any damages resulting from your use or inability to use the App
Any damages resulting from reliance on information provided by the App

The App is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SteadyPlate and its developers from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the App or violation of these Terms.

Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend access to the App at any time, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users or the App.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
