Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the MyRunningPal mobile application (“the App,” “we,” “us”). By downloading, accessing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the App. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you may use the App only with the involvement of a parent or guardian, and only they may make any purchases.

2. License to Use the App

We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for your own personal, non-commercial use, subject to these Terms. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, resell, or distribute the App or its content except as permitted by law.

3. Your Account

You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide, for keeping your login credentials secure, and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Subscriptions and Billing

The App offers an optional auto-renewable subscription (“Pro”) that unlocks features such as adaptive re-planning and generating new plans. Core features, including keeping your current plan and logging runs, remain available without Pro.
New users may be offered a free trial. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, it converts to a paid subscription and your payment method is charged.
Subscriptions are billed through your Apple App Store account. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase.
Subscriptions automatically renew at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID account settings. Deleting the App does not cancel a subscription.
Prices and plan details are shown in the App before purchase and may change; changes do not affect the period you have already paid for. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable; refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple.

5. Health, Fitness, and AI Disclaimer

MyRunningPal is not a medical device and does not provide medical, health, or professional advice. Training plans, paces, readiness figures, and other guidance are generated using AI and standard running formulas, are provided for general informational purposes only, and may be inaccurate or unsuitable for you.

Always consult a qualified physician or healthcare professional before beginning, changing, or continuing any exercise program, especially if you have a medical condition, are injured, are pregnant, or have any concern about your ability to exercise safely. Do not disregard professional advice or delay seeking it because of anything in the App.

6. Assumption of Risk

Running and physical exercise involve inherent risks, including injury or, in rare cases, serious harm. You participate at your own risk. You are responsible for exercising within your limits, being aware of your surroundings and traffic while running, and stopping if you feel unwell. To the fullest extent permitted by law, you assume all risk arising from your use of the App and any activity undertaken in connection with it.

7. Location and Health Data

Features of the App use your device’s GPS and Apple Health. Your use of these features is also governed by our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for granting only the permissions you are comfortable with; some features will not function without them.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse the App, including by attempting to disrupt or gain unauthorized access to our systems, uploading malicious code, or using the App in violation of any applicable law.

9. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, text, graphics, and software, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks or content except the limited license above. Your own data remains yours.

10. Third-Party Services

The App relies on third-party services (including Supabase, Google Gemini, RevenueCat, Expo, and Apple). We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or practices of third-party services, which may have their own terms.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or accurate.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the App. Our total liability for any claim relating to the App will not exceed the amount you paid us for the App in the 12 months before the claim.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, losses, or expenses arising from your misuse of the App or violation of these Terms.

14. Termination

You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the App. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including disclaimers, limitation of liability, and intellectual property) will survive.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, except where mandatory local consumer-protection laws apply to you.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
